Night Storm

In the dark, the thunder and lightning
rolls and blasts with power and might.
Rain pelts the roof like drumbeats,
and the wind howls like a banshee.

As the earth is soaked and blasted,
we lay inside, snuggled in our bed.
Let the storm wreak it's noisy havoc...
we have what we need here now.

You look into my eyes, shuddering.
I hold you close, soothing you.
I brush my lips against your neck,
letting you know that all is well.

In the dar, the thunderstorm rages.
Inside our home, we are safe and dry.
Let the storm blow--it will soon be gone.
we have all that we need right here!
